Part 2 of scamming is finally here! For part 2, I made a little test for you guys!
What's the chance of you getting Scammed?
You're in Jamaa Township to go trading.
a) Ignore them and go away
b) Think about trading them something, but then decide to just trade them a minor item, but rare enough to accept if they were lying
c) Trade them a rare item to see if they'll actually decline
2. One of the players you recognise sends a Jam-A-Gram saying: "Meet me at my den." You go to their den and they ask you if they can try on your item. Do you:
a) Say: "I don't like people trying on my items" and leave their den
b) Ask them if they'll return your item to you when they're finished with it, then hesitantly give them the item
c) Give them the item without any questions or comments to add because they look like a nice person
3. Someone in Jamaa township says: "Best gift gets my worn!" You don't have a worn yet and you really want one. Do you:
a) Think this is a scam and don't send them anything
b) See this as a very popular scam but decide to take the risk because you want a worn so bad
c) You're so desperate for a worn you send them your best item
4. A player starts dancing and says: "It's my birthday! Send me gifts!" Do you:
a) Doubt that it's their birthday and don't send them any kind of gift
b) Believe that it's their birthday and send them a small rare
c) Send them a good birthday present because, c'mon, it's their birthday!
5. Someone tells you to go to their den. When you get there, they tell you to send you one of your rare items and they'll send you one of their rare items. Do you:
a) Say politely: "No thanks. I like the rares I have now."
b) Ask them what they'll send you, and if it's something you like, you send them one of your rares
c) Wonder what their gonna send you back and send them a rare
For the results:
Mostly A's:
You are a scammer detecting professional! You know exactly when someone is trying to scam you or another player, and always make the right move. You have almost NO chance of being scammed, and you won't be needing anymore tips on scammers because you're already a pro! Good job!
Mostly B's:
You have a 50/50% chance of being scammed. You might be scammed a few times, but you won't be lettin' no one scam you in no time! Maybe read some more blogs or forums for tips on not being scammed. That's something that will help you for sure! Be a little bit more careful of what you do and you'll be excellent at being a fair trader!
Mostly C's:
You will unfortunately get scammed more then you deserve to be. Maybe ask one of your more experienced Jammers to help you practice and get better at ignoring scammers. Your friend can say different things that a scammer would, and you would practice politely saying no and ignoring them. Ask your friend to act out multiple different scenarios, for example, saying: "If you don't accept this trade, I'll report you!" (but don't actually report them, this is just acting and practising!) With some time and effort you can move up to a level A!
I was going to add more scamming scenarios, but I figured this post is long enough as it is. So that means I might even be doing a Part 3 to this scamming series! Jam on, and don't be a scammer!
